Campbell would be a great pickup, however with few picks & no depth on the roster I doubt we bring him in. Look for the Raiders to trade for him

Campbell played well down the stretch for the skins last year. I think he can be a decent starter if he has some talent around him. All that being said I am happy with Moore and all we need is a guy to back him up not a guy to challenge him.

McNabb is in the last year of his deal. I wonder how much the Redskins will pay him to extend him. If they can't it'll be an expensive 1 year rental. I thought it was fucking ludicrous to trade McNabb but in division? Indefensible. According to Mike and Mike Andy Reid did not want this trade that the GM is driving this. I guess between the defensive turnover and now this the Eagles are in reload mode as well

It'll most likely be a rental. McNabb has gone on record saying he wants to play in Arizona, where he currently has a home.

    From ESPN Insider:
With the Redskins' trade for Donovan McNabb, it is clear that Jason Campbell is not long for Washington, D.C. A trade seems to be a strong possibility, with two possible destinations being the two teams that just lost out on the McNabb sweepstakes: Oakland and Buffalo.

Carolina is another team to keep an eye on, as the Panthers have yet to settle their QB situation, and a hardworking, less flashy guy like Campbell might be more of what they're looking for in the position (seeing as they have taken a pass on adding Michael Vick, despite his interest in playing for them). Campbell would be in a position to challenge Matt Moore, or serve as a more-than-capable backup. Don't count out the Cleveland Browns, either. They have lots of draft picks to offer, and the current depth chart of Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace is scaring no one.

Michael Wilbon writes in today's Washington Post that while McNabb is a great fit for the Redskins, Campbell will also be better off because of the trade.

It may be tough for the Redskins to find a suitable trade partner, however. Matt Mosley explains why below:

    Matt Mosley
Campbell won't have much trade value

"Campbell has not signed his restricted free-agent tender yet. The Redskins put a first-round tender on him, but obviously they would come down on that trade demand. Since the Redskins already have McNabb and Rex Grossman in the fold, Campbell won't have much trade value. Teams will likely wait for the Redskins to release him."

ESPN can speculate with the best of them.

Point taken. Which is why saying Kolb has to win a Super Bowl to validate the trade was a bit extreme. He simply needs to be very good.

McNabb's 35. He may have a few more top line years, but not another 10. This was no different than the decision to go with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay over Favre. One of them had to go, and they kept the young guy.
