Part of me hopes Jake starts and beats our asses. Still really can't say I want my team to lose though.

Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Colt McCoy suffered a left ankle sprain on Sunday and his status is "up in the air" for next week's game against the Carolina Panthers, a source told ESPN.com.

    AFC North blog

Walker ESPN.com's James Walker writes about all things AFC North in his division blog.

    • Blog network: NFL Nation
McCoy suffered the injury during the third quarter of Cleveland's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie continued to play and was in a walking boot after the game.

McCoy started five consecutive games for the Browns (3-7) and went 2-3 in those contests, which included wins over the New Orleans Saints (7-3) and New England Patriots (8-2).

As of Monday McCoy isn't being ruled out, and his playing status likely will be determined "on how he feels" toward the end of the week, the source added. But ankle sprains in the past have kept out two Cleveland quarterbacks already this season: Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme. One of those two veterans would start for the Browns if McCoy cannot play against Carolina.

McCoy, a third-round pick, has thrown for 975 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in five starts this season.

James Walker covers the AFC North for ESPN.com.

If Jake plays and beats the snot out of us I wonder if Fox will resign after the game.

They ought to put Steve Smith in a DB. Jake would force the ball to him every play.

Yeah but to counter that the Browns would put their DBs in at WR and we'd be screwed.

I will absolutely be rooting for Delhomme. I also have Cleveland defense on fantasy.

I have started picking up whoever plays us. Killed with Baltimore Sunday. Atlanta has two coming up, have them too.

Yeah, I'd like to see Jake do well, kind of wish we were playing at home.

Can't wait to hear what Mick and the boys have to say about Jake, if he plays.

That asshole ruined our last decent shot at a Super Bowl. Fuck him. I hope he's serving sandwiches at UFL games next year.

This is the exact problem with our fans... How can you justify pulling for the other team under ANY circumstances... Do us all a favor and go buy a fucking browns jersey
