It is so easy to hate the *ucs. And this is our champions. How sad. I'd rather the Skins be champs. And they WERE my most hated.....till last weekend.

    sorta unrelated.

but did you notice how much bigger Jenkins is compared to Peppers (and peppers is one big dude) the size difference was really evident when Jenks restrained Peppers from whippin Walkers ass!

When I was in Tampa Sunday night watching the local news they interviewed Walker and he just had this mad look on his face. The reporter asked what the game was like and he said "Ever been it a fight? It was like that" then he sorta just stopped talking. He looked just like a guest on Jerry Springer after the crew pulled him off someone for the 5th time...

Now that is what I am talking about. I don't care if it was TB, Panthers or anybody else. We are talking about ACL, so not only is he done for the season, he may never even be close to the same and play again.

It would be easy to call an individual play a mistake. However, in the Tampa game I believe we witnessed what can only be described as a pattern. The coaches should have been fined too.

Agreed. And that surprised me about Gruden.

I would respect them if they were just tougher than the Panthers, but that wasn't the case. They were just dirty. I expected a hard-fought game, but not fighting like sissies when they were getting their butts kicked on both lines.

At least you knew what Conrad Dobler was going to do. The Bucs were worse.

"That's what you do when you're getting beat." --Brian Baldinger, on the Bucs dirty play

It seemed to me like the game started off just being a hard-fought war in the trenches, but as the game progressed and the Bucs started to realize they could lose, they (OL) started getting desperate, and began playing that way. Couldn't you just hear an OL coach screaming "I don't care what it takes! You stop that #77!" (or #90, or that DE, whatever)

Gruden probably didn't give the order. He looked incredulous through the entire second half, like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. I'd say the assistants have a lot of explaining to do, though.

On whether or not McCardell's block was legal, here's an idea:

MAKE ALL BLOCKING BELOW THE WAIST ILLEGAL!

I don't recall the Raiders being models of sportsmanship when Gruden was their coach. It starts at the top.
