have you been watching the same games as me? not to defend jake but all he has done is spread the ball around. he has thrown to everyone on the offense except the 5 line men multiple times. he has hit every tight end with long balls too. he just couldn't complete to anyone very often and his deep balls to smitty kept getting picked. so your post is completely wrong.

whatever it was that happened sunday night this team woke up and played their asses off. matt more is the only thing that was really different. and this team did it with a broken down o-line.

For the most part I like what I've seen of Moore. Accuracy doesn't seem that great but maybe that will come with more playing time and more time practicing with the receivers. I like the fact that he spreads the ball around and isn't a total stiff in the pocket and actually holds on to the ball when he is hit. Long term solution idk, but whoever is running the draft in 2010 needs to be looking at a QB for the future (as they should have been doing the last 3-4 years).

This week against the Giants should be interesting if the G-men play anything like they did against the Deadskins. Be nice to close the season out 8-8 considering the crap that has happened this season.

WilliamJ,,, my post is "completely wrong"? Maybe I should ask you, have YOU been watching the same games as the rest of the world? Because (and I will attempt to respond without your same sarcasm), but with all respect I will STRONGLY disagree with you. In fact I don't believe Jake knows what the term "spreading the ball around" even means.

Everybody in the stadium and/or within 100ft of a TV knows on 3rd and long, Jake is looking for Smitty, period, end of discussion. A lot of Jake's interceptions are the result of his trying to force the ball into double/triple coverage. DID YOU EVER BOTHER TO LOOK and see who the receiver was standing in the middle of all those double/triple teams,,,,,,, most of the time it was 89. Aint nobody going to double/triple team one of our TE's...

If Jake Delhomme ever spread the ball around to all his receivers, then Matt Moore has given a new meaning to the term. And again, I think thats why Moore's been successful. Other teams can't load up on defending 89.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there
Jake may have not 'spread the ball around' as much as people think, but we've had a number of 1st downs via receptions by Rossario, King, Moose, Jarrett and RB checkdowns.

Not taking up for him, and he does lock on to Smith too much, but Smith ain't the only one he's passed to. Sometimes nobody's open, even Smith, and he prolly believes if he's gonna have to throw up a 'prayer' because of that and being pressured, Smith is the best candidate to go up/fight for and get a 'prayer' in most cases. So the prayers do tend to go Smith's way.

If Jake were better in the pocket (feeling pressure earlier, being more mobile and making better decisions under pressure) he wouldn't get picked/fumble so dang much. Overall, his passing ability is purty good when he's not pressured, although he does have plenty of WTF moments even then.

One of the best called plays by Davidson Sunday was the out to Hoover when lined up in a complete strong run formation for the wide open TD. Where the fuck has that been on short yardage situations?

Anyway, Jake is going downhill, being on his downside, plus he's lost all his confidence and mojo. He's done as a good starter, but he will make a great backup for the next few years. And decent money for a good backup QB is not a bad thing, especially having youth as a starter who needs tutoring as well.

Hey I admit I didn't read the last message closely after it started out "have I been watching the same games"...

But we're cool. Merry Christmas to everyone.
