idiots and experts are probably equally catered to in their respective domains (cept that i think out of the box, macs are set up a bit easier -- most odd stuff is off by default). however, when you're between idiot and expert, i think osx wins. sure, it might have its quirks, but nothing says poor design like an operating system that needs to be re-installed yearly in order to keep it working efficiently.

when i got my first windows 95 box, i decided i didn't like where it put things and how it organized my hard drive - so i changed it. i group my apps differently. "program files" sounded so childish so i changed it to "applications". did all sorts of house-cleaning. obviously, that's not something you can do on a pc -- the computer is in control unless you're an absolute expert on the system. on a mac, you can move things around however you want -- unless you start moving system files around, obviously.

i had an issue with my dsl connection on that box. called tech support. the guy asked me to get into regedit to fix it. regedit? good lord. there's no way a normal user should ever have to go there, but i did because things had crapped out.

And yet those commercials argue it the other way around. Never need anything for life, the computer's pre-equipped to handle anything, ever.

As a matter of fact, those commercials usually go as follows:
"Hi, I'm a mac. I have a 34" long cock that on its off time, feeds the homeless. I look like a bodybuilder but I never work out. I'm a movie star, a doctor, God, and a fearless dictator all in one. One day, eminent domain will give me your soul outright. Thanks for that, by the way."

    "Hi, I'm a PC. I suck."

Here in the real world, no one using Windows has to do that either.

i really don't care what anybody else thinks or uses...i know what i like and what i like to do on a computer, and what i like and what i like to do, macs do better...from graphics to music to digital photos to video edit to sync my cell phone using bluetooth to surfing the internet....even my gmail is better on a mac...i like spending time do what i do on a computer, not working out driver issues, network connection, installing printers, etc, etc, etc...or just getting "the bugs out" and taking time away from what i enjoy...but that's just me

i was off the mac wagon for a while after xp pro came out, but 10.4 whips ass
