I think they did settle out of court. Bright needed the money. If Lucas went that direction, I would see a settlement as the more likely scenario. Having your starting WR and CB in a court battle during season is probably not going to happen.

It is a sad day when a fist fight during practice between athletes competing against each other becomes a legal issue. This country has become seriously pussified and I hope Lucas doesn't go that route.

 

Lucas is making more than Bright, and if he goes after smith in court he'll probably lose all that good faith he just got from his teammates (who also decided not to retaliate for him and just seem content to let this slide). And he'd come off like a little bitch.
