Come on Mags. There is no way this is substantiated because they are not telling folks who they like in the draft. This, if true and I doubt, might have been leaked because JR has given our organization such a bad reputation by putting the CBA crap before the team. Maybe they want Luck to think he can slip to Denver. I dpn't know. But there is NO WAY there are rumblings coming out of Panther camp about the QB play before we hire a coach, offensive coordinator. This is outsider speculation, something people are doing a lot of right now.

We have requested permission on 2 minority interviews that were made public. The others are secrets. Why? Rooney Rule. We also need to do this quickly, and we need to make sure at least one of these guys shows up. Now ESPN is saying, "The Panthers like hiring Defensive Coordinators and have a history of hiring new coaches quickly." WTF!!! We have fired and rehired TWICE in about 12 years!! There is no pattern! After Capers, there was 1 former head coach and 1 defensive coordinator. A Pattern?

mostly true, though with the top pick overall they can really say whatever they want. I mean, it's not like anyone's going to trade above them.

there's no way they pass if he declares. no way. This is all a big smokescreen. Too cheap to pay for a good coach. Smokescreen. Gonna address other needs and stick with Clausen. Smokescreen. Russ Grimm, Perrey Fewell, or Ron Rivera? Smokescreen. one fly in the ointment is Luck staying in college. if we're serious enough to scout Luck at the Orange Bowl, we're serious enough to make sure its in his best interest to declare. He has leverage, but we have an opportunity to counter that leverage. Plus, we're being secretive as shit. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds. Hope i'm not eating crow this time tomorrow.

I totally believe they'll hire a line coach as head coach and trade away the best QB in a decade for a defensive tackle.

    Hope not, too.

Why would we smokescreen about the QB though. If ANYTHING, if we didn't want him, we'd send out a smokescreen that we did, to gain leverage for a booming trade down.

Makes no sense....it's scary that it might be true.

I'm losing sleep too now. My God...if this is true, this will be the biggest....offense, committed by this organization, and after QC beats Hurney up, I will then finish the job and kill the guy.

I'll pitch in for gas. I think we'll be disappointed.

Question - is Hurney's "control" of player picks the norm for the league? It doesn't make sense to me that the coaching staff wouldn't have a hell of a lot of input on player picks, but it seems Fox didn't or was that just toward the end?
