    with newspapers,blogs,internet highlights, sportscenter,wrap-up shows,league cable channels,talk radio,etc you can know enough to converse with people.

    OK, yeah. That amount of info is avail on most sports. I would say Hockey, you have to seek it out. Soccer?

    Plus, other than the finals, I wouldn't be able to tell you much about the NBA day to day. I pay no attention to baseball.

    I should have said most of the major sports. but yeah, without watching I know more about baseball than I care to know just from the radio. espn will break into coverage of Roger Clemmons spitting tobacco juice during a minor league rehab game.
