Yeah, the principles involved all want to win now. I'd be surprised if they take the tear-down approach I so want for this franchise.

Trade Beason, Gamble, Stewart to get draft picks and cut salary; Gross to get younger. I prefer we keep DW and restructure his contract. He played well the last few games.

I really don't see any of that really happening. I don't see a lot of market for those guys, and it just makes more sense to drop DW.

Nobody would trade with those contracts. Beason could have been possible had he been healthy the last 2 years. What GM in their right mind would sanction that move.

Gamble looks like the only sure fire cut, maybe Gross too. Can we sign an equally good LT for 5 mill without using a draft pick?

Cap says CB and LT in rounds 1 and 2.

Milliner/Flucker as replacements? Can Fluker play LT?

Maybe the Mich kid in 1 and Rhodes round 2? Doubt he makes it to our second pick tho.

Is Matthews staying in school for real?

I don't know I'd call Gamble a sure fire cut. He's the one that saves the most, but he's 29. Adding two years doesn't feel like it's unrealistic, if the GM wants. If not, fine, but gotta come up with two CBs who can start, on limited resources.

But wouldnt a restruture just create even bigger problems in the future?

Unless he takes a massive paycut but I think he's good enough for one more final big payday, doubt he would do that.

New GM, now is the time to make the move IMO.

CB could be the #1 pick draft day.

all his proration should be done as of now, with 2013 proration already counting. So there would be some for 2013, and the future, which is a part of signing a new deal.

Making DW a June 1st cut would cost $3.2 mil in 2013 (save $5 mil) and push $6.4 mil into 2014. If you're going to do that I would rather it be Beason ($4 mil 2013 - save $5.5mil, $8mil 2014), who has no obvious use to this team anymore.
