    Gantt's blog:
The Panthers have agreed to a three-year contract extension with DT Damione Lewis, a move which could be made official as soon as this afternoon.
The hilarious part is that Lewis was nearly the last one to know. He said Saturday morning he hadn't talked to agent Drew Rosenhaus since Thursday, and all that he knew was that he was hoping for a three-year deal. "I assume I'll talk to him Monday when he gets back from Hawaii," Lewis said.
The move's a key one, since it maintains their depth in the middle of the line. Anyone who says they know where Kris Jenkins is playing next year is lying, so keeping Lewis under control at least provides some sense of stability.

Great move by the panthers.I thought Lewis was one of the few player on Defense who had a good year. Now they chose to trade Kris Jenkins Then Lewis Can step in for him.And if Jenkins is back then we have a good backup player

He's been sort of 'on-again, off-again'. I'm okay with him as depth, but I don't trust him as a full-time starter.

I am glad to have him back. I am not sure if we overpaid or not at this point but he is a good player to have around.

interesting, but I'd certainly like to know how much. We needed tackle depth, but I'd like to have #4 in the rotation be a rook. Initially I felt like we needed more run stopping at DT, but we were 4th in yards/attempt so I'm backing off that specific ideal.

I heard 3 years, $14 million. And yes, that is starter money.

Lewis is a role player more suited for passing situations.
