He's talking about them being the LA Panthers...even though there are at least three franchises that make a hell of a lot more sense than us. And one of them would only have to move about an hour and a half north.

Considering his involvement in the league, I would be surprised if Jerry gave up controlling interest in the team. Perhaps he is looking to divest a portion of the team for estate planning purposes, but i believe that he is selling the whole team when i see it.

not going to happen, JR selling the team, or the Panthers going to LA, people may not show up but the stadium is usually sold out...

i have no doubt the panthers could get sold... not saying they will move to LA, but they could move to whatver city loses an NFL team

any market they move to is going to be a bigger market then they're in now

if there's no football in 2011, a lot can happen between now & 2012

It makes no sense to move a team to LA and then move a team to fill their spot. but i can see that you are reaching.

just FYI, the three teams that look to be viable options to move to LA (along with their TV market rank) now are Buffalo (51), Jacksonville (45), and San Diego (28). Charlotte's is 24th.

I know some of y'all hate JR and won't put anything past him but I don't believe he'd sell to someone knowing they want to move the team.

I seriously don't know where all this talk of the Panthers moving comes from. This team fits right where it is and has a captive (thanks to PSLs) fan base and a good stadium not owned by the city. NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

BTW - the fan base would be excited if the team was in contention for the playoffs every year.

don't know If JR will sell...but factor in his health, he removed his sons from the org, roster is the youngest and the salary cap is the lowest-especially once the dead money comes off, and a coach who is gone at the end of the year. Any new owner would not inherit a shitload of bad contracts and would have the ability to pick a "new coach and his system, people, etc".

    /just saying
