He's lost his Inside spot to Morgan... that's fine I think Morgan is better... but he's too slow to play either outside spot... so here's my question since he had decent stats last year and was our leading tackler can we get anything trade wise for him?

very doubtful. its too hard to trade players in the nfl anymore. it rarely happens and it usually takes a proven commodity for anyone to make a trade.

and then there's jeff lewis...

I just hate to see the guy go to waste... and since we aren't gonna use him I was hoping we could at least get something for him... kinda bites but I do understand

Brane what are you smokin? How long do you think it will be before Morgan breaks his funny bone. You need to be 2 deep at every position.......except kicker of course. unless you have a grammatica.

Lester doesn't have terrible speed. His reactions are the concern...in the end, how fast it takes you to drop five yards to cover a hook or how fast it takes for you to come up and fill outside of contain is in the mind not in the feet, but even still he timed 4.8 with his injury still not worked completely out. He's a 4.7 guy, and most linebackers in the league aren't 4.5s. For a two down strongside guy it's more important that he plays well than that he can run down a back fifty yards downfield. I'd like to keep him on the field if possible, since the scheme we're running is more of an attack scheme that suggests direction and reaction.

no I agree we should be deep at every position... I was just thinking if we could get another better player out of it... we're EMPTY at a lot of spots I'm just trying to think of some way of filling some of those

Man, I am peeing my pants with excitement over this board. It DOES rock!!!

Whether or not we keep Lester depends on the price tag. If he's going to be a backup, he better not be expensive. Anyone know the cap hit?

I say keep him. He's more than a bargain at the price. He plays above his skill level and he's got heart.
