there was somespeculation that a big-market team -- read: the knicks -- would mysteriously be among the top three teams in the lottery, ala patrick ewing.

didnt happen- memphis no. 2, cavs no. 1- cavs had the worst record so this was expected.

i'm interested in memphis now- who'll probably go with carmello anthony. coupled with battier, jason williams, pau gasol, michael dickerson, stromile swift, mike miller, and lorenzen wright- thats a very nice nucleus.

The #2 pick went to Detroit. The only way Memphis would have kept it is if it was #1. Sucks for them to get so close, but damn, did Detroit make out in this deal or what...a playoff team and Carmello Anthony or that foreign dude.

damn- otis thorpe's ghost returns. detroit is gonna get much needed help with darko milkivic or carmello- they need more athleticism at the swing position, someone who can create their shot going to the basket- thats what carmello brings. darko is great around the basket and will provide much needed help to corliss down low.

Goddamn. Anthony's undoubtedly #2, and Detroit's going to be sick ass talented now.

reminds me kinda of the coup that the hornets pulled with baron davis at the number 3 pick- even though they had the best record of the 13 lottery teams.

Well, this pick is heaven for the Pistons. They can’t be happy with Cliff, big dog’s bite ain’t as strong. He’s sleepwalking through this series.

But they can be good. Put Prince in the weight room, get him stronger, they’ll take some pressure off of Rip.

yeah, prince needs more upper body strength to really polish his game off. he looks like a young tony kukoc, at times.
