Ron rotates offensive lineman and corners like he's on fucking meth.

Thank god we haven't cut our dynamic pair of veteran safeties!

 

I like Ron, actually, and the Riverboat nonsense aside, he did a solid job coaching a HEALTHY, relatively VETERAN group in 2013.

Gross has his warts, but he was highly-serviceable at LT. Wharton was missed early on, but I really do like Andrew Norwell, particularly in the run game. Byron Bell is playing LT, and he's doing a poor job. You know why? Because he's not a starting-caliber tackle. I hate seeing him getting his ass kicked each week, but I am pretty fucking pissed at the general manager for not addressing this critical need.

In the secondary:

Mitchell balled hard, and was solid in run support. He didn't take shitty angles, and played like an animal on every down. DeCoud and Harper are soft, slow, take bad angles, and make too many mental mistakes for veteran players.

Florence was a nice piece, and made several big (game changing) plays in big wins for the '13 Cats.

Mikell...better that what we had, but I realize his age and health made his return near impossible.

Star has been pushed around. Dwan hasn't seen enough snaps.

I really miss Ginn. And LaFell (because I was one of maybe 3 people in America singing his praises as a goddamn bull of a run blocker on the edge).

The special team sucks because it's poorly coached, and chock full of marginal, unappealing tackling dummies.

Colin Jones is being used properly on defense, which is nice.

Thomas Davis is absolutely the best linebacker on this team. Hands down. And he's doing it with no ACL's.

So, there's a nice fucking rant. Ron leads by example. Great. I'm glad he does that with a stacked, healthy roster of veterans. When you are asked to coach up young talent, coach them the fuck up and adapt.

Mike Shula has no business formulating offensive schematics, or calling the plays. Fuck him in his ass, and fuck his overrated father for never getting Dan Marino a balanced offense.

It's quite simple to me: if this team wins their last 4, and they go to the playoffs, and they advance, and play in the Super Bowl (ha ha ha).....you still fire Shula and I'll keep El Chico on and pay him out.

ONE OUNCE short of that -- fire his ass.

And, yes. I do agree with Black&Black: TOM COUGHLIN.

 

Florence was solid. I think PFF had him as a top 30 cornerback. Of coure Gettleman rewarded this by not even offering him the vet minimum.

 

He wasn't a hog mollie so no need in keeping him around.
