Laptop touchpad and mouse dead

    My wife's laptop (Toshiba) touch pad and external mouse (usb) are not working. She "said" she hasn't dropped it, set it down hard but I am not sure. The touch pad dopes not move the cursor and a USB mouse plugged in either USB port does not work. The mouse light doesn't work as well. I have rebooted it, swapped mice on both USB but still the cursor just sits there. ANy ideas?
