I come from a Land Way Downunder.
I'm back here again seeking some advice on buying a laptop. Basically, this old girl is on it's last legs and I'm not spending anymore on funding my computer chappie's trips back to China :). If this thing blanks out and blue screens me one more time, I'll implode. So - I've been browsing and wondered about a new one and this time, a laptop. Basically - I don't do anything majorly flash when I'm online. I surf, come on here, message boards, occassionally look at vids and don't do the games thing at all. The one I'm interested in is pretty minimal - but has loads more than I currently have (anything's an improvement I'm thinking). I really want to be able to copy CD's and DVD's though - (I can't now). To be honest, this is a cheapie, but brand new. Could you all have a look at the specs and see what you think? BTW, I'm not wireless and don't intend to be in the near future. Another thing that I'm wondering (yes, it's a stupid question). I have files and such on my hard drive and would like to transfer them over - can I, with ease? Any suggestions?
Here are the specs for the Acer 3002LC Notebook.

The reviews are promising - and all say that putting in new software is dead easy (if I so desired to do so).

Is this a good one - for what I want it for?

    Spanks in advance! :).

It's a little short on ram also... 256mb doesnt give you a lot of resource..

    Price ????

Hopefully not over $750.. and thats a stretch..You can get a refurbished one from price grabber for less than $550...

More ram in that new one or just replace or format or defrag the hard drive on your old one (assuming it has bad sectors). :twocents:

Just buy it already, I have a video to send you :)

Sorry, I can't add anything here, but I will say I can't see what buying a Ram has to do with computers. I'm thinking a Ram might possibly conflict with the horse farm.
You get your package yet? :bananalam
