Officiating in this game was one of the worse I have ever seen. These refs are so inconsistent. PERIOD!

the shot Kobe gave Bibby was obvious yet no foul called... gotta love it... if it had been Sac gets the ball back... down 1

There's no chance they call that on anybody. You can get away with a lot o an inbounds play like that. EVERYBODY pushes off and no whistle. Bibby bodies up on Kobe and Kobe tried to get around him. The bo was incidental.

Now, there were certainly some bad calls regarding Shaq, but he's touch as hell to ref. Pollard was called for some mystery stuff.

The league nor NBC can afford a Kings/Nets final. The Nets may be from the NY market but they don't have the fan base that the Knicks do, so the TV ratings would be in the toilet.

I'd watch it. Both teams play some interesting ball. The refs do give the advantage to the home team a lot. Bibby got fouled several times on his jump shot, and no call. Wheras last game, those calls were all going to Sacremento. I think the refs get influenced my the crowd.

After all the smack Pierce was talking, he's a whole lot of Boston Crow Chowder to gobble. Jason Kidd is the toughest player in the league.

I didn't see Bibby getting fouled on jump shots without a call. I missed the 1st quarter, but I caught the rest. Yes the home team gets calls. That's why you want a crowd behind you -- to help the refs make calls.

If there was a conspiracy to get the kings out, Webber would have picked up his 6th when he grabbed Horry's arm on his swing-through. They called a foul on Vlade cuz they let it go on Webber. But as soon as the Kings looked to get advantage, they had to call it. Sorta like letting a bump go unless it knocks a guy down...

A nets/kings series would probably last longer and would be SERIOUSLY fun to watch. You'd have folks running up and down court all day.

That was my thinking. Nets/Kings would be fun. Lakers/Kings, no contest. The Nets have nobody that can challenge shack, McCullough would get hammered. THe Kings have Vlade, who has gotten in Shack head with his height, quickness, and well, acting ability. Vlade's flops have flair, he's taken Lambeer's antics and made it an art form.

I seem to remember a couple of shots where it looked like Fisher tagged Bibee's arm. And then once Bibbee was guarding Kobe, didn't touch him, and got a foul called.

But I agree that those calls weren't part of a conspiracy, its the standard stuff that every home team gets.

Well, fisher got into early foul trouble. I didn't see him play till like the 3rd quarter. I know Bibby thought he was fouled taking it to the hoop, but none of those calls were made in any game I saw in the playoffs this year. They're really letting the defense get the benefit of the call on contesting layups. But jumpers is a whole different story. I think they're trying to call fewer fouls to keep the game moving (and thus more interesting to the broader audience). They probably figure they can skip the ones that are hard to see by the common fan, but hit the obvious out in the middle of the open fouls. Just a guess.

I secretly hope for a Nets/Lakers matchup. Partly because I live in Los Angeles, but mainly because the Lakers DO get calls. I'd love to see the Nets play somebody where THEY'RE not he darlings. Jason Kidd gets SOOOOOOOOO many calls that it's not funny. Apparently, if you jump infront of a player, as long as your feet are touching the ground, you're "set". My ass. Guess I'm still a little fumed about the Nets/Hornets series....

Look at the relays. Mister Jennins used to do that all the time for my alumni and Golden State. Kidd was still each any every time. I was rooting for the Hornets too, but I have to give it to Kidd. He's one tough, blue-collar player.
