    The 26-year-old spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the Kansas City Chiefs last season. In five NFL seasons, Coleman has 10 interceptions in 22 starts.

    Coleman's familiarity with Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott from their time together in Philly and his versatility to play both safety spots make it a solid landing for Carolina.

    The addition of Coleman could come in handy if 32-year-old veteran Roman Harper's play declines. Coleman landed at No. 26 on Pro Football Focus' ranking system in 2014 despite playing just 396 snaps.

    That seems promising.
