Mags is right. This is from Scott Fowler's Q & A:

QScott, I am still trying to learn all aspects of the game; please help. 1. What is the difference between an "unrestricted" free-agent,and a "restricted" free-agent? 2. Does the NFL ever look at defensive tactics, especially as they relate to ankle injuries? My novice eyes tell me that Foster got clipped on the play that broke his ankle. An observation: If Jenkins wants to be any where near in shape for the 2006-07 season, he needs to start training now! The man is HUGE! Love the game! Just learning the fine points.

Gwen, an unrestricted free agent has four or more years of experience and his contract has expired. He's free to sign anywhere he wants. Basically, in our own lives, most of us are UFAs. A restricted FA has 3 years of experience (usually) and his own team can match any offer made to him and keep him. And yes, NFL does look at what you're talking about and usually makes some rules tweaks in offseason.

EDIT: I tried to add this earlier, but something happened on here where my message wasn't posted immediately. Go figure.

Moose got caught with pot, Smitty beat the crap out of a teammate, Carruth was a murderer, the bar is not set too high for Carolina wideouts......

So that's a reason to add another troublemaker? Sorry, but not only is Koren a headache in waiting, he's not even a good receiver. He drops balls, runs poor routes, has a suspect work ethic, isn't an adequate blocker, and I don't see him improving any time soon. I don't see anything he can do that much better than Drew Carter, and that's saying more about Robinson than Carter.

Except I believe you actually have to catch to play WR. That might be a problem for Koren.

It could cost the Vikings a $10 million bonus to re-sign receiver Koren Robinson.

OK, so for how many years?

Resurrected isn't so far off the truth, then, because apparently some of us believe he's the Christ.

There's no way he deserves more than $10 mil overall, much less in bonus.
