Today I checked the brand spanking new James L. Knight Theater in Uptown Charlotte today during their Open House . . . . Nice 1000 seat theatre in the center of the Wachovia/Wells Fargo Corporate Complex . . . . I might have to go check out a show here at some point . . .

What's the story behind the artwork?

Bechtler bought this piece in Europe and brought it here to display in front of the new museum . . . I forgot who originally made it (its in one of my other photos in another album). Its a really cool piece of work . . .

Carolina Theater is still closed . .. Latest plan to buy a high rise condo above and over the current theater is in limbo AGAIN due to the economy being in the tank. I wonder why other cities could reopen their CAROLINA THEATERS (Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Durham) but ours has stayed closed over the last 20 years. I remember when it was suppose to have reopened as part of the CITY FAIR Complex back in the late 80s . . .

KNIGHT THEATER is suppose to be a fill in facility between the BELK ( 2100 seats) and the smaller BOOTH PLAYHOUSE (500-700 seats ? ? ? ).

NRA Convention (5/14/10)

So many guns to choose from, its hard to just pick one !!!!!!!!! I never saw so many guns under one roof in my life . . . I wish they NRA would come back to the QC more often . . This wasn't a bad show to check out in person!!

Nascar Pit Crew Challenge

I was checking out TWITTER yesterday morning, I saw a tweet from the SPRINTCUP Models stating that the first 24 SPRINT Customers to meet in front of Time Warner Cable Arena that afternoon at 5:30p would get a free ticket to the NASCAR PIT CREW CHALLENGE that night. So of course I had to go up there and check it out (I was the 2nd one up there . . . . Woohooo !!!!!!)

Being a nominal NASCAR fan, I figured I would give this event a shot to check it out in person. . . Man, it is much better in person vs. watching it on TV !!!!!! I got to go on the arena floor and bump into a lot of NASCAR Drivers and personalities during breaks in the action. After checking this event out, I finally might have to bite the bullet and check out a race in person at some point !!!!!!
