    As you can tell, I'm already bored with the Keyshawn stuff. :D
    But, seriously, what's the opinion on this?

    NFL | NFL Network talking to B. Gumbel

    Andrew Marchand, of the New York Post, reports the NFL Network has had discussions with Bryant Gumbel about being the network's play-by-player on its new eight-game TV package next season, according to sources. Besides money, the other major issue is Gumbel's interest, considering he has limited play-by-play experience. At one time, he called golf for NBC.

    I have a great amount of distaste for the guy. He can turn everything into some form of political statement. Although I suspect that would be limited by the network he would still find a way to annoy me.

    Having said that he is articulate and could probably do a decent job if he avoided injecting his political and sociological views.

    Bryant Gumbel is Howard Cosell/Dennis Miller................ without the talent or sense of humor.
    Gumbel is arrogant and insulting.
    He looks at you and acts like he has just spent more on breakfast than you got paid last week, yet he talks about the plight of the poor man.
    This is who they think the average Joe NFL fan is expected to listen to and watch?
    I would rather listen to Madden talk about his favorite restaurant in Helena, Montana (during the Super Bowl) than hear ANYTHING Gumbel has to say.
    Where is Rush when you need him?
    Bryant's brother Greg is twice the football reporter that Bryant is.

    You are right, he isn't running for President. He thinks he is the Czar.

    Give me Michael Irvin for the play by play. No junk. You want honesty and know how? You will get it right there.
