Horse races are only fun when there is money involved. You go out to the track, drink, make bets, talk smack, and as bear says, party.

This is actually the first year I've missed it in like 10 years. I love that race, and I hope someday to go. My money this year would have went to Danthebluegrassman anyway, but was a late scratch.
ESPN Classic showed some great stories on past winners. Geniune Risk is still my favorite, but Seattle Slew was a great horse. And ofcourse Spectacular Bid.
Let It Ride – Richard Dreyfus is the greatest movie about horse tracks.
Casey's Shadow – Walter Matthau where he's a horse trainer was great too.

I've been watching the derby for years and really got into it when Silver Charm ruled.
Now, it's off to the Belmont, Preakness, and the Triple Crown.
