I don't think the subtle tendencies a player knows about the opposing team, especially with respect to individual players because of playing with them, is anything that can be really communicated and 'taught' to the new teammates as much as a gut reaction or just plain split reaction made on the field as an acutal 'reaction' to something happening at that moment.

Like, for instance Draft and Ron. I don't think Draft could really effectively 'teach' our d or coaches about the mexican 'tendencies' or what their O is gonna do in 'this instance or that instance' (more than film study would indicate), but moreso the fact that Draft (himslef) is moreso inclinded to know at a certain moment on the field what ron might do in a situation as it unfolds and therefore may have a more effective playmaking reaction to ron making a move or whatever.

Lucas also doesn't know their current game plan for us (as much as theirs offensively).

He could possible tell our O and coaches what the D might be inclined to do comming from his point of view playing in their system, as far as possibilities- but prolly not much more as our coaches know from film and study from this season's tapes.

He may, tho in a slit second ddesicion, have a correct gut reaction to something on the field as it unfolds and make a good play because of it, himself. Something he prolly could not have explained to anybody beforehand.

I disagree. Being able to tell Gamble how Engram (phantom example) tends to swing his right arm out a little bit, when he's about to cut hard left on a post pattern, that type situation is useful. When Gamble recognizes a pattern, he can jump it.

I agree somewhat here, but I meant more that the individual (Lucas here) benefits moreso than anything he can 'let on'.

Sure, that one thing you said would be useful. Providing that Lucas didn't fill Gamble's brain up with all typed of scenerios that he remembers or gamble actually reacts to them and doesn't recognize them till to late.

And you're assuming that there are that many 'tells' (significant tells one of which applies ____ and _____,) and they are easily recognized, reacted on and actually remembered while on the field. And that those 'tells' can be communicated because they are so obvious and that Lucas remembers them as well.

A coupla 'tells' on a coupla guys, yeah, I'll go along with that.

I tend to agree with Coach. Lucas might be able to tell people things, but informing them and having them act on it are two different things. For Lucas it will be second nature, while everyone else will be reacting.

If its anything like the Giants' game where Jake picked up their defensive hand signals, it could be HUGE.

There you go. If there was so much to be learned from a former player, I'm sure the peope who are payed millions can figure out how to counteract that affect before us schmucks can point out the obvious.
