It's not looking likely he will play. Who's going to take his place. They could be fucked.

 

Gibson, Walker rotation; Brayton and possibly Johnson working in on passing downs.

 

He's nothing super special but I don't like not having him against Jacobs.

 

We'll need all the help we can get, their line is quality not just the backs.

 

I would like to have him in there in what should be a very physical game. Hopefully we can hold up without him. I wonder if Vincent is going to be able to go?

On Panthers defensive tackle Darwin Walker: We brought Darwin in (during the offseason), and he's played quite a bit of football for us. I think a lot gets put into who starts and some of those things, who gets their name announced as they enter the stadium at home games. He's played a lot for us. We have a lot of confidence in what he can do and Gary Gibson and D-Lew (Damione Lewis), also. We've used pretty much a three-man rotation on the year and if Maake (Kemoeatu) in fact can't go - he's still not ruled out by any stretch; there's still a chance he could play - we feel good about all four of them.

On how having someone other than defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu in the lineup would affect the Panthers defensive line: I'd say probably not at all. We lose a little size but gain a little quickness.

 

We might be stuck with only 6 DL on a really shitty week to only have 6.
Kemo still isn't practicing, and Taylor's a little banged up. Gibson is a run stopper and that's fine but Walker and Lewis really aren't much for it. We'll probably have to put Brayton inside and use Johnson as the end for about 20 snaps, he's really not smaller than our backup DTs.

They get a fresh jacobs back, just put two guys in the Pro Bowl with an alternate at LT. Us not having our starting guard would suck, too. Vincent is a run asset and I'd like that against their smaller front.

If it's like that, it's like that. We've been very lucky about this, and if we get limited, we change the process and do what we can with what we have.

 

Seemed like a lot of Brayton's plays Sunday night came when he was inside and Johnson was at DE.

 

I guess we could steal it, but I believe next week will be must win. Hopefully Kemo and Vincent will be able to go in NO.
