    Tue, 11 Apr 2006 19:20:01 -0700
Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports agent Jordan Woy said five teams are in the mix for free agent LB Keith Adams. The Carolina Panthers are one of the teams he has visited with.

technically listed at left outside linebacker, Adams is a strongside linebacker at 223 lbs. Worth noting as I was about to state that we already had Ciurciu at backup WLB, and then thought about it for a second.

Adams is a good player, but not a starter. He's backup fodder and a solid cover man on third downs, along with being a special teams ace.

Is he enough that he can be that "Veteran to get us to Seward?"

I really liked him coming out of college, knew he was smaller but thought he had "it"

I'm a big Clemson fan so I'm an Adams fan. He's a little on the short side but at Clemson he was a tackling machine. I'd love to see him here. His stats have improved every year.

probably. And versatile enough for the other side, I guess. An upgrade over Ciurciu if you want to look at him that way, but I don't see them getting rid of Vinny. It would be a good "we're not actively looking at an OLB move", but wouldn't preclude them from looking at an OLB.

Yeah, I like Adams in a Chris Draft (he's limited but plays hard) sort of way. Honestly I'd rather see Adams in here than waste a first on Thomas Howard (although Howard is a bit bigger).
