Keep Pounding

Sam Mills knew what this really meant.

Most of our players have adopted the slogan, but don't have the heart to know what it really means. The only thing most of them are pounding is their overpaid puds.

Smitty is an exception. He plays with heart and keeps pounding, even when we're 20 points behind. He gets it.

I sure wish the Panthers would live this slogan instead of just slapping Sam's sign when they run out of the locker room and onto the field.

 

Pick your favoite ken lucas/anthony bright joke.

Problem is how many of the players were around when sam was? I'm sure they all get told the story but there's no connection there- it's just a tradition.
EDIT:To expand on this Mills' last year was 04 players from that team still on panthers: 89, Gross, Gamble- didn't even get coached by him. Proehl still here but same problem. Peppers and Spoon are the only guys I can find still in the league.

 

Agreed. But a tradition they should drop if no one cares enough to attempt to live up to it.

 

I think they try hard, they're just not very good.

 

You could be right. Our OL looked completely beaten down this past weekend, and Smitty was doing every thing in his power to motivate them.

But, no matter how good the recipe, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

Steve has been extra frustrated lately. I keep expecting to hear about another punching incident.

 

At least he's not mailing it in like 2010. Not yet, anyway.
