From his running he looks like he should be the starter. But they're committed to using both and Stewart isn't all the way there on his blocking, so yeah.

the weird thing about it, though, is that he hardly played in the 1st half. It's more strange that he didn't play early than that he played late.

He missed a big blitz pickup, fwiw. I don't know how fast he would've gotten there, but he missed it entirely. Deangelo's still the starting back and he's still an explosive player.

Regardless of who starts its great being able to have two guys that are as talented as Williams and Stewart. Like some have said Stewart had the hot hand and I'm glad Fox and Co. were smart enough to stay with him. Two impressive runners that bring different things to the table. We have weapons this year.

ps. we still suck at screens.

I was expecting some screen play, but I guess them stacking the line so much kept that from being doable.

That blitz happened so fast that I don't think JS would have gotten there in time to effectively block.

It still looked like he fucked up though, on that play. He didn't seem to pick up that blitz at all.

I was pretty pissed at that point, but got over it

BTW, can we rip out and shred the pages that contain the fake draw on 3rd and long from the playbook?

just like before, I can see the idea on the 3rd down draw.

Deep in your own territory, a 3rd and long draw is all but necessity. 3rd and 7+ from within the other team's 40, a lot of teams alternate between a deep heft into the endzone or a draw to settle for the FG.

I didn't like them then and I don't like them now. I figured Davidson would fix that but not so much. Fromunda.

Why fake a draw and take on the additional risk of error in what is supposed to be a conservative play?

    And why GOINGS?

i don't blame him for not getting that one. there's no way he could have gotten there fast enough. as soon as delhomme pulled back from center there was a hand on him. to me, that one was on the line.
