What are the pluses and minuses to hiring him. He's rough on QBs as he will flip flop them all day. But he would make our putrid offense viable again. Hire a strong defensive coordinator or retain what we have. He is salivating to get back into coaching and would love to go against Tampa again

I mean, as much as I hate to be a fucking loser, I guess it would be cool to see that asshole with us, back in the NFC South. He always had an erection for this franchise, particularly Smith.

We really just need a few good players peppered in with the incomplete piece of garbage we're fielding now, and just about any HC could run a competitive team (9-12 wins).

My "con" on Gru is his track record of over-coaching his QB's, and bringing in an abundance of players with absolutely horrible character issues--many of whom never worked out.

Gru would be much more suited for Dallas, but since Fox and the Jones family have a summer orgy at Valley Ranch each Spring, that probably rules Gru out.

he's a fairly good fit. Brings a WCO but he runs the ball. Loves our backs, loves Smitty, and the TEs and backs would benefit from WCO. A series of beating the three step drop to death will help mask the problems in pass pro until it's fixed, and throwing the same three step progression down after down would help our QB's efficiency. He's used to a Tampa Two and wants nothing to do with defense apparently, so he'll probably keep Meeks and let that not get fucked up.

He clashed with Clausen and was a bit of a dick to him on camera. He has plenty of problems sticking with a QB, has definitely spent too much in resources on QB. Why'd his team quit on him after Kiffin said he was leaving?
Also, he's a rah rah guy, for all that "he's mean" bullshit, and there's evidence that's worn off plenty of times.

he's charismatic, much much more so than any coach we've had. he'd certainly be more entertaining, what with the chucky scowls and goofy faces and hyperbole, than our previous duds. we'd have more than 3 yokels at the pressers. we can look forward to a qb-heavy camp, since no one but rich gannon ran his offense at an acceptable level. too bad about the career- ending neck injury there, otherwise there's our vet qb. maybe garcia instead, if they aren't still broke all up since gruden only dates his qbs. line play will be worse. smith will be the galloway stand-in, although it wouldn't be totally shocking if he brought in galloway anyway. doesn't matter if he's over the hill, tim brown and charlie garner were, but they found soft landing spots with him.

if we were right on the cusp, right there and just missing...something...and he could come in with his badass cheerleader routine and pump everyone up into believing with "pound that rock" and "we'll battle them anywhere, even on the walt whitman bridge" talk...then he'd be a great fit. as it is, i don't trust him to build this team through the draft or free agency, and we need someone that is capable of reconstruction. he's not shown any ability for that. at all. but he is entertaining.
