I don't know. Steussie and Mitchell have given up pressure too. I think they're slightly above average OLmen.

Let's just say this. If they are better, its not by a whole lot, and it won't be for long. The main intent of my answer was, yes, I too am impressed by Gross.

I haven't seen much pressure from them at all. Especially considering that Mitchell isn't head up on a player.
Any specific things that you've seen? At all?

gross has exceptional quickness and balance for a big man. even when his man gets a half of step on him, he is right back on and eating him up. he got knocked back a couple of times in the first couple of games. i didn't see that happen at all in the GB game, which I hope means he has figured that problem out. i could be wrong but i don't think his man ever laid a hand on the QB in GB even after the ball was released. wish i taped the NY game to see the sack Piper says he gave up. maybe that would lower my opinion of him a notch. having not seen that sack, I'd say that as of our GB game Gross has already become our best lineman.

I have never been a huge fan of todd's. too many dumbass penalties and he got ate up by Rice last year whereas i think Gross would handle him. i like mitchell but he is not dominant either in pass protection or run blocking. i thought donnalley was our best overall lineman last year with mitchell a close second.

i watched munchak and bruce mathews for years and gross looks to me to be in their class and maybe even better.

better than hall of fame level players? Sorry, I just don't see it. The guy gave up a sack, got pushed nearly into the QB on another play, and hasn't shown the slighest bit of dominance.

No. Ive seen lots of missed run blocks by everyone. As I said before, the point of my comment was that I was pleased with Gross. It was an offhand comment.

BTW, on the goal line failure. On one play, Gilbert Brown completely destroyed Jeno and caught Davis from behind. On another, Donnelly, who was pulling, tripped over Mangum, who had himself at a 30 degree angle with the ground trying to block someone. I think Mangum was at fault there. I couldnt tell what happened on the other two tries.

    yeah, there have been miscues.
For instance that Brzezinski pull block that fakes the sweep for playaction, that was interfered with by Bates, who also didn't sell the run fake at all. Not that Doug doesn't suck, but he had help on his most grievous play.

I haven't seen Gross miss any plays. He's done his job, best that I've seen. And I'm pleased, too. Just don't believe he's our best lineman, nor dominant - there was doubt even in April whether he'd ever be dominant.
