We have him under contract for 2 more years.

My thoughts are that he's expressed a desire to go, and we're entertaining offers.

I think that unless we get a 1st or second rounder, we keep him. We need him, and he's worth that.

I also think he's cool with that.

But damn - if we unload him, we have a whole different set of needs. D-line becomes paramount, imho.

Why does it become paramount? Lewis can play and start if needed. Depth becomes an issue but if we bring back Moorehead we should be OK.

    I'd rather trade Peppers

    Jenkins is a keeper IMHFO

Lewis isn't as good as Jenkins for one thing, and his salary has a huge jump after this season.

Rumors now have Dorsey falling- not working out, whispers about potential long term problems with his knee- he won't fall to us but if he somehow did, jenkins traded or not- they'd have to consider it.

unloading jenkins probably would be paired up with signing Justin 'The Honkey Sackmaster' Smith so that would cover one of the 2 spots but we'd still be losing a lot at DT.

I think Lewis has outplayed Jenkins in some areas. He is a better interior pass rusher...

yeah, I don't think we want to get rid of him. I dont think we're going to pay him, but he's not going to hold out for now, so whatever.
The only way we could go about improving and getting this taken care of? Getting one of the top two DTs, which woudl cost more than we'd get for him and we'd pay that player more than we do for him.

We were even worse at Outside pass rush and why wouldn't you want the better interior pass rusher to stay fresh by working in a rotation?

If we have a guy in mind, I'd take a chance with it. He's still a very disruptive player, but I think he's starting to be more disruptive in the locker room, and the neutral-zone penalties are getting out of hand.
