Yep, this supports Wharton giving a hometown discount.

they can push Foster, but I don't see why. This is the one year his salary becomes heavy, and most of that goes with him. The other two have similar salaries but you're getting multiple years wth it, so you could easily guarantee some of it without much penalty.

KJ's the only one with real value, though.

Also, looks like they're just going to tag Gross without much extra negotiation, which I don't know I agree with.

if this is fox/hurneys make or break year, getting rid of your best defensive lineman doesnt make a whole lot of sense

The idea perhaps, but not the reality. The things I read from national sites suggested that Wharton would get something in the $6 million per year range on the open market.

Assuming we can get a day 1 pick for Jenks, what DT's can we get in the draft?

    Thanks in advance.

I agree, and I've never been a big fan of the idea.
Of course, I don't feel like a 2nd round pick will replace Jenkins, but if they can make other areas better at the cost of DT, the end result being us getting better, it's an option.

Remember, day 1 is top 64.

Ellis, Dorsey both probably go before us at 13. After that, the rankings diffuse to various ideas, but:

Trevor Laws, Kentwan Balmer, Red Bryant, Dre Moore, Frank Okam, and Pat Sims are guys I've read in various top60s.

obviously i agree, if it makes us better, its a good option. and it may make us better in 2 years, i dont see how it makes us better next year, unless their concern is a divided locker room or "cancer" in the clubhouse.

This may have been the reason he was on the block anyway.

And I agree, I don't think it makes us better now. Unless we get a player for player trade out of it. Trading him for Drew Bennett. Trading him for Alex Brown. The value isn't always there, which is why these deals rarely happen.
