Everything on offense is gonna be based on a functional cohesive OL.

This is a treading water year anyways take the best player available. Reaching for OL looks kind of stupid when the Bengals are out here knocking off number 1 seeds giving up nine sacks.

There is always going to be an outlier. Just like the 28-3 comeback. It rarely happens and really no place in a debate for week to week games.
The Bengals didn't get to their spot by regularly getting their QB killed with sacks and neither will most teams.
So throw it out there like it's common, but it's not. It is a lot more common that a good OL will generate more wins than a Panthers' one will.

Fine then ignore the bengals example and read the rest of what I wrote. Don't reach just cause you want a lineman, I'd take help pretty much any where* cause the roster is full of holes.

    *runningbacks excepted

I agree about the reaching up to a point.
I would say, well they can always take care of the OL in free agency, but they've already proved that their eye for OL FA hires needs a lot to be desired.
Hopefully the new OL coach has a better eye for hog mollies.
I still think that somewhere along the draft road that a QB has to be considered.

Was a local head football coach at Ponderosa HS in the Sacramento area. An old colleague of mine played for him (HS). Said he's a great guy.

Outside of that, he's a well respected name amongst OL coaches. Great hire.
