If it's designated a June 1st cut then that money would get split between 2013 and 2014. I forget the exact figures on the contract so I'm not sure how much would be pushed into 2014, but it could be as much as three million.

True, but designating him as a June 1st cut would have saved significantly more than cutting Anderson. It would have meant a big cap hit in 2014, but I imagine they'll have to cut Beason at some point and deal with that anyway.

$1.4 mill per year for three more years...so $4.2 mil total. a June 1 cut would mean $1.4 added this year and $2.8 mil next year. Keep in mind that Beason has some base salary dollars in 2013 ($3.75 mil) and 2014 (and $1.5 mil) guaranteed for injury so that could be an issue since he ended the year on IR.

Yeah, but he was asking how the dead money would affect the current cap room. I was just trying to explain in essence that it wouldn't.

At James Anderson $3,900,000 - I'm not surprised at all with this move.

if you were the other team would you want to be stuck with a Hurney contract?

Jon Beason is a great player if he is healthy. Course no one will touch him till he proves he can still run. That Deangelo contract probably got Hurney fired. Stupid.

DeAngelo's contract doesn't even crack Hurney's top 5 worst. Frustratingly, James Anderson's deal was one of Hurney's better ones.
