things like this really bug me. i think that -- nationally speaking -- nobody is in touch with what's going on with the panthers. i mean, mort would not shut up about a QB on draft day. they just never seem to be in touch with the team. maybe it's because it's a smaller market, but there's enough coverage at ground zero (observer, herald, gazette) to be able to do their homework.

    blah. what do they know.

Many coaches are driven by how good they are on offense and if they have two bad years in a row they will make a change at QB. Fox, however, is old school and wants to win with defense and ball control. A QB who can manage the game and play well during crunch time is exactly what he wants and has in Jake.

It does speak volumes about Jake's perceived value outside of the team and city.

What is perceived value worth?? Nothing, really..but it's interesting.

yeah. I don't remember that much about Deangelo Williams during coverage of the Stewart drafting either. Knowing basic information about the skill players seems to be something worthwhile for doing your fuckng job.

I hate to say it, but my money is on Jake being re-injured by the 2nd regular season game.

    Hope Moore is ready.

I sorta feel that too.....I figure he protects his arm and in doing so hurts something else....it's easy to be overprotective when you come back from injury.

No way Jake gets hurt that early. He looks like a LB and his arm by all accounts is stronger than ever and ahead of recovery schedule. Baseball players have rejuvenated their careers after having Tommy John surgery and their throwing motion is much more violent than a QBs. Keep in mind all of his added muscle mass to absorb hits and the monsterous running game that is coming together he will be fine. At least imo.
