I must admit, on that last drive I was thinking "Please don't throw, please don't throw, please don't throw." I swear I just knew Jake was going to throw an interception.

And anyone who tries to pin this loss on Colbert and not Delhomme is being an out and out dumbass (yes, Magnus, that means you). Colbert was invisible and he is frustrating me, but it's stupid ass Jake Delhomme that keeps losing games for us. He's now officially lost more games single-handedly than he has won for us single-handedly. He lost the Saints game, he almost gave the New England game away, and he lost us this game. The first TD was a very nice throw by Jake, but that's what NFL quarterbacks are supposed to do, and the rest of the offensive credit goes to Smitty.

We can't and shouldn't change quarterbacks, but someone in the organization needs to have a sit down with Jake and tell him to stop being a dumbass. We cannot win with him just giving points to the other team every single week.

I never pinned the loss on Colbert, so I guess you're wrong there. I guess you're drawing from a position of old arguments to suggest I'm defending Jake - I'm not. I've said a couple hundred times that he should know where the safety was, and that it was a bad throw. But, see what you want.

See what I want? There isn't a person who speaks the English language that could see it any other way. I'm not drawing off of anything but your own posts in this thread.

Do you see how that suggests that "Yes, Jake played poorly, but Colbert is actually the problem? If you don't, then stop writing.

Again, you're admitting that Jake deserves "some blame" (how about a fucking Mt. Everest-sized scoop of blame?), but spinning this as Colbert's problem.

Colbert didn't show up, but an invisible guy didn't lose the game for us; a stupid one did.

Yes, since the part you should've bolded actually says "Jake was at fault for the throw".

That's the blame. Again, see what you want. I'm not defending Jake or the throw. He should've known where the safety was, he shouldn't have thrown to an eternally covered receiver. He threw away the game. Said it before, and I'll say it again if you need to go through the whole "Mags has some ulterior motive I've invented so I'll badger him for a few days" routine.

My problem is that you say things like "some blame" and "but." There is no "but" or "some blame" involved. It's either "complete blame" or "the majority of the blame," and no "but." You spend all that time talking about Colbert and how "bad things happened" when we tried to go to Colbert and how Colbert didn't earn his jersey, but Delhomme is the guy who lost the game. I never said you absolved him, but you certainly follow up statements criticizing his performance with "but"s.

Getting better performance out of our #2 WR isn't going to make shit-all difference until our QB stops giving points to the other team.
