I think a lot of peoples concern was not about pressure on any given play, but the lack of pressure on certain blitzs. Which led to little help for Gamble or anybody else.

But certainly was effective on certain plays.

it's starting to, now, but yeah, congrats on finding a way to "told you so" on something so trivial.

Can we set up a forum where people just go take their turn being right? Seems like some of y'all are so desperate to get it you'll take it on anything.

Literally, when you look at almost every late-comer's new thread saying what they think about the game, the pressure is the first thing mentioned, as if counting how many times we got pressure is more important than winning.

Im lucky, because my computer is in the TV room. But as for giving, you arent telling me anything in that room I dont know. All I see is every time we blitz and it doesnt work, you try to point it out, at the point of it getting ridiculous. Its to the point where, I think you hate the blitz just to hate it because you perceive anyone who likes it to want to blitz ever down.

I dont want to blitz every down. Dont know how many times I have to say it, but Ill do it again. I want to blitz better, and not just for the sake of doing so. Never said blitzing equals intensity, so dont throw me in with that category. Others have said it but I havent. I said earlier the D needed more of it, and Lucas did too, so Im not being a stupid mark.

Overall, the chat room is the same. I think youre getting burned out, is all, and thats fine. BUt yesterday, I noticed NO ONE say fire trgo, someones got to pay, and all the other silly shit youre mocking. WHat I did notice, on here and in there, was you taking your picks to get a shot in at how ineffective the blitz was anytime it was burned or there was a completion, or saying things like if we like a blitz, lets like a lumbering fullback going up the field. Well, whether we blitz or dont blitz, our defense sucks in coverage. As for the enjoying a game with a beer on a coach, then do it. Enjoying a game is what its supposed to be. Enjoyment. I hardly get that. Im in the TV room anyways, so I can sit on teh comp facing the tv and write away. I dont enjoy it when our team struggles as much as they do, although I think this last win was one of our healthiest, and can go a long ways into getting us over the hump, for a variety of reasons. But in the end, if you only want the positive, looks like youll have to stay away from both boards. Looking on the Lair, its not much better there. Oh well. Either way, I hate it for you that its become that bad.

Wrong, and wrong. Blitzing a three step drop is still one of the dumbest things in football, and I have no idea why you aren't aware of that. And it never works unless the offense screws themselves up (either by not picking up the inside guys or else not reading the coverage correctly).

Correct. GB killed us with the three step because we actually were getting pressure on them in the 5 and 7 step. We didn't get there against AZ no matter how far they dropped, in part because we felt like we had to give so much help on Boldin and Fitzgerald. So we have a lot more problems than just what plays opposing offenses run against us, but the three step drop run effectively was the main culprit against GB. It wasn't the main culprit yesterday, however.

They don't, and you saying that you can blitz a three step drop makes it look like you don't either.

I assume this was rhetorical, but if you were referring to the chatroom, I never go because I also hate the behavior magnus and others are talking about. It gets really fucking old, I feel compelled to correct the more stupid comments, and it distracts me from the action. By not coming here during the game and not logging in to any chatroom, I can actually sit back and watch the game itself. I can note criticisms that I want to talk about later, but I can also PULL FOR MY FUCKING TEAM and get excited (and/or relieved) when they win.

I'm ridiculing it because it's riduclous. It really is. To have people bitching when a good play happens, that "we didn't get enough pressure", is ridiculous. For people to come out of this game and the first thing they say is "we didn't get enough pressure", that's ridiculous.

Throughout 5 weeks we've had missed tackles, a lack of intensity, coverage problems, and some gap integrity problems. Nobody bitches at any of that. It's "not enough pressure". So yeah. Love to have more sacks, and would love it if people focused a bit more on the game rather than whether we got pressure.
    Nope. it's not.

I don't "only want the positive", but sure, nice dig. What I do want? Some rationality. People bitching at the things that are happening wrong on the field, not just chanting the same shit they'd been convinced of in week 3 of 2004.

Seriously, what happened to fans pulling for their team? At what point did fandom become a job?

I probably haven't paid as much attention as I could have, but do you guys think that maybe some of the fan frustration is due to the fact the expectations were very high (maybe way too high), and the Panthers aren't living up to expectations?

It's like when your kid comes home with a B in a class they should've made an A+ in without doing any homework. You're grateful thay didn't fail but you're still a little dissapointed.

I definitely think that plays a large role. I guess it's really been bad since the Super Bowl.
