Seven members of the University of Miami's faculty senate are investigating the controversial cheating case of a star football player whose penalty was later altered in a way that will allow him to play this fall, as the Hurricanes defend their national championship.

What's your beef? A duly conviened body of school administrators and a representative of the student body saw fit to punish Mr Johnson in another manner. What could be more fair? He undoubtedly has seen the error of his ways and even now is diligently studying for his mis terms as we write. I take it that you are not one to give a feller who's seen the errors of his ways a second chance. There are too many of your kind in this country.

Would they have done the same, say for some one in the Math Department? Highly doubtful. Exactly what sanctions were called for by the rules of the University? Was this just another example of selectively applying those rules?
