we were 5-1 in the division last year and that got us where?

not so sure the 2005 team was as good as their run would indicate.

we've had too many draft choices not live up to their potential.

and that i think is a blame squarely on hurney, and fox.

We will win a couple more games. I think we will get close to .500. That is not all that bad since I thought we would go 3-13 when Jake went down.

This team is missing some pieces to be a contender though. First of all we have to be able to run the ball better. The only year we have been good at running the ball was 2003. An effective running game would be enough when coupled with Smith. I do not think we can ever be a really good running team with the OL as it is currently built. On defense we are "good enough" if we had a good offense to go with it. We are not nearly as good as people once thought though. I am not sure it is a good idea to pay Peppers with a deal like Freeny got.

No, we haven't been thinking that. Maybe you have, but hardly anyone else thought this '07 team was talented enough to win a championship. We've been talking since the preseason that the team may need a roster overhaul.
As I've said many times, who starts at QB is far from the biggest of our problems. Whether it's Vinny or Carr, we have more pressing issues.

after big Richardson promoted little Richardson over him...so he did leave on his own, but Richardson knew he would, and did it anyway, and now they have 14-2 every year and we have 7-9...

Weren't you babbling about the bandwagon after St. Louis?

    That's not remotely true.
