We have all been thinking that this team had a good enough talent base to win a championship based on its success in 2003 and 2005. Is that still the truth? I am not saying this just because we lost to a good team today. This is looking like another 7-9 season. Losing Jake hurt us a lot but this team still has a lot of other holes in it too.

Is it time to start thinking about blowing it up and rebuilding? This off season is a cross roads. Both starting OTs are free agents, wideouts #2 and #3 are free agents, Rucker is a free agent, Lewis is a free agent, we have to lock up Peppers soon or let him walk, is it time to part ways with overpaid under performers like Morgan, Lucas, Kemo etc. What do we do with Jenkins? Will Jake ever be the same after the surgery? About the only solid thing we have is Steve Smith.

I think there'll be one or two cap-conscious cuts this year, and probably a few new signings. Don't know if that'll count as blowing things up, but I don't think we're retarded enough to sell that 21-of-22 thing again.

We're not in terrible shape. whatever that was on offense 1st half, we need to replicate that again, possibly without having Vinny.

Not quite yet, because we're still in 1st place with a 4-1 conference record.

It doesn't matter. "It" is not going to happen this year.

    Thelt, start a draft thread!!!!

Tom Brady and/or Manning could always break their leg. That's why they don't hand out the Lombardi Trophy in October.

I wait 8 months for real football, so even awful football is football. That wasn't awful football, just a half of awful football. Against a team that hasn't lost dating back to midway last year.

I look ahead to next year from April on, but not to escape football.

When I saw this thread title, my first thought was Cecil Collins.

Cecil, just like Thelt, counting the days. Cecil is looking past 2008, though.

I am still going to watch and hope we win every game we can but it is just unrealistic to think we can make a playoff run with Carr or Vinny at the helm.
