We said it here all season: appreciate the ride when things are good, because it can go south in a hurry. I've learned as a Panthers fan to make no assumptions (good or bad) as to what will unfold between each season.

No way in hell I thought our 2013 week one roster, with a hard schedule, would win 12 games. No way in hell as I saw my favorite team implode at Arizona in October was I thinking playoffs. Players made plays, each week, and the defense gained momentum. Clutch performances, blowouts. We saw it all. To bear witness to 11 wins in 12 weeks was special. Beating the Saints on the final drive, and seeing it in person, is another great memory that I will never forget. The most intense environment I can recall at BOA (and, fuck, I've seen it all).

Out of everything, only one thing truly pisses me off: Ginn should have been retained. Not taking care of a highly productive 3-position player for what would have amounted to a reasonable price is negligent and somewhat depressing.

It's March 15. Hit me up around November 15 and I'll give you a personal status report.

    Fuck Mike Smith.

Agreed re: Ginn. I thought he was doing some special things as the year progressed and was worth resigning.

Gettleman is doing the opposite of what most people here want. That leads me to believe he is one of the members that Collin ran off and this is his payback. Thanks Collin.

It's not even about performance, which isn't looking promising this year anyway. It's about whether or not you can keep cheering for a guy who is deliberately giving you the finger. And by cheering for the Panthers, you're also cheering for him. If it was just incompetence I'd deal with that as I did with Marty all those years. I fucking hate the son of a bitch who's running my favorite team and that's an unprecedented dilemma.

So Panthers have lost 3 top recievers, Smith, LeFell and Gin. Depth is crap now. What the hell are they going to do to replacing them? Draft? Thats taking a big chance. I haven't seen the Panther sign any WRs as of yet.

The roster must be completely gutted so cam newton can become the highest paid player in the history of the league. Then lukes agent will demand for the defensive "face of the franchise" to be the highest paid LB in the history of the league. This is going to be a two mega star team with 50 whoevers and burnouts.
Bus Cook Tom Condon and Dave Gettleman are having a three-way in a huge pile of cash right now.

Wide receiver is also one of the hardest positions for rookies to contribute right away. It generally takes ~3 years before wideouts are legitimately ready to start, although they sometimes are forced to do so earlier. I will agree with those who say that Gettleman has a plan. This isn't happening due to a series of bad luck, he has something particular in mind where he thinks that paying wide receiver is unnecessary. I believe it will fail spectacularly, but we'll see.

While I agree that will happen, it wouldn't affect cutting Steve since cutting him after the season would have had the same 2015 cap hit as making him a June 1st cut now. It also wouldn't be affected by Hakeem Nicks wanting to play here on a cheap one-year deal and Gettleman telling him he's better off elsewhere.

The thought occurred to me this morning that maybe Gettleman is trying to force Shula to run Cam more. Probably nothing to that but the ************ likely has no choice now.

My thought was that Shula's offense already makes receivers so pointless that there's no reason to pay them.
