It's interesting. Seems like people got very angry after the Green Bay game that we barely won, and refused to get over it ever since. The fact is that this is the best Panther team in John Fox's tenure, and we've won some games by a rather large margin.

The NFC does not overwhelm me. Seattle or Chicago do not overwhelm me. If we can just get into the playoffs, I don't think it would be unreasonable to win the conference. And if we lose a playoff game on the road, it would be nothing to be ashamed of.

Not so sure I could agree with this unless we won the Superbowl, when you compare us to the 2003 Superbowl run.

The way we got to 10-6/11-5, makes it feel more like 6-10/5-11. The flaws of the 2005 Panthers were pretty obvious from day one and there really hasn't been alot of improvement. They show flashes, then regress back to the previous mediocre appearance.
The D has seemed to gel a little better than the O, but it still seemed to take some time. Offensively, we've struggled to find cosistency almost everywhere except Smitty. Not good being one dimensional offensively.
They have found a way to win, which is encouraging in itself...but in the back of my mind, I have been waiting for the bottom to drop out.

And honestly, I grow tiresome of some of the bullshit that has taken place in this forum the last few months. Differing opinions are what this joint is all about, people should not be attacked for having an opinion. Share your opinion and be respectful of the right of others to have one.
I'll take the opinion of others and if I chose to voice disagreement, I hope I do so in a manner that is respectful. If I have failed to do that in any case, I appologize...but I will not appologize for having an opinion. Nor should anyone else here.

Sorry if my post rubed you the wrong way, McFly, but I was just noting something that is worth noting. I meant no offense, and I respect your opinion.

Most people look for the dark cloud within a silver lining, but it's important for me, even from a health standpoint, to stay as positive as I can. The Panthers are a very good football team. I'd hate to be stuck in Detroit right now. Or Houston. Or Green Bay. Or be eliminated from the playoffs on Christmas Day, like Minnesota. The team does have flaws, yet they've have managed to deliver some pretty stong victories along the way, against some very good teams. And our ability to hit homeruns on offense can make up for the lack of consistancy.

I like those guys. I like the character of the team, and I like the fact that we control our own destiny at 10-5. If we have to go on the road as a wildcard, fine. If we have to go to Chicago or Seattle, fine. We can break their hearts, like Dallas broke ours.

First things first: We owe Atlanta a firm asswhooping at the Georgia Dome. 2003's squad didn't have the balls to beat the Falcons. This year's team is different. We have the balls, and more importantly, we have the personnel and the scheme to get it done.

Oh, not at all B&B. I was just making a general statement regarding the direction of the board. Your comments were not at all off base. No offense directed, none taken...no worries mate!
There has been too much shit flying around for my taste. Lots of good information flanked by unnecessary fluff and I am guilty of a little of that in retaliation. My opinion of the direction of the board is largely irrellevant, like anyone else, I am always free to leave...but I won't.

i know what you mean fanz. i usually dread the end of football season, but this year it just doesn't seem like such a really big deal. in some weird way i think i'd of been more excited each sunday if we were 100% scrappy all the time. memory is weird, but i think i was more excited for sunday's when we went 1-15. something about this team just doesn't get 'it' for me (except the previous atlanta game)

You've got to be kidding me. Sit through the season I have as an Eagles fan and then complain about your season. Leave it to a Panther to complain about a 10-6/11-5 season. Come on guys. Get your asses excited about your team. Who cares if you think they have the talent to win the whole thing. If they get in, they have shot just like everyone else.

Your could be 7-9 with no shot at anything, but a middle of the draft pick.
