I'm all for getting rid of TO. You could make either argument (stay or go) well, but I think it's good for the Eagles to start feeling like a team again. Of course, I like to see the Iggles lose anyway, but they were in that game last night and got decent performances from their receivers. Now, unless they felt they were out of field goal range at the end of the half, that move with McNabb faking the spike was stupid and costly. You have an opportunity to go into halftime tied with a field goal. Don't fuck around, just spike it and kick it. I don't know if McNabb did that on his own or what, but it was horrible.

The real problem is that with TO gone, your best offensive player is Brian Westbrook. You just gave him a new contract. It's 4th and 4, and the guy hasn't rushed well, but he's a fantastic receiver out of the backfield, perfect for the down and yardage. Why the fuck was your best offensive player not on the field for the last play of the game?

I think the "window" for the eagles closed last year.

I missed the part where Reid called that play. Looked to me like DM was trying to make something happen and noone else knew it.

I also missed the part where Reid is the one missing wide open receivers all game.

Agreed. Donovan lost that game on his own. The Redskins did everything they could to keep them in the game, but Donovan couldn't get it done. And TO had nothing to do with it.

BTW... Fuck TO and Fuck the Eagles. They both suck.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but on 4th and 4 they had time to call the play they wanted and they did not have their best offensive player on the field. There's no excuse for that, unless Reid's got some excuse for that.

McNabb seems to have trouble not with the long passes down the field, but with the short routes, screens, and swing passes, the ones that require touch and timing.

Westbrook wouldn't have added anything to the play. The receivers were there, but Donovan threw the ball directly to the Redskin's player. Donovan blew it.

Oh yeah... Fuck the Eagles. :)

I disagree. I didn't see any open receivers anywhere on that play. If Westbrook was in, he would have slid around underneath the coverage and caught a little pass either just past or just before the first down marker and gotten a first down. The rule of thunb in any sport is that when the game is on the line, you should put it in the hands of the best player. In this case, their best player wasn't even allowed on the field. Regardless of whether or not McNabb would or would not have executed the play well enough to get the first down, to me that's a glaring coaching error and may have cost them the game.

Still, McNabb looks bad. TO may have destroyed his career.

For some reason I can't read that without getting absolutely giddy!
