    He's got a legit point, but it has potential to cripple college athletics. I guess they could limit the number of times that footage is used and only use current players in advertisement. However I'd set up a stipulation that the NCAA can use the footage until 4 years after the player's freshman year. I'd say that was the length of time the player agreed to attend college, and the NCAA can't be held responsible for the player choosing to leave early.

    Scholarships are yearly contracts. There is no committment to play for 4 years.

    LOL....

    I witnessed one of the most awesome dunks I've ever seen when I was at NC STATE...it was Lorenzo Charles as a freshman against some team at the beginning of the season. The "Dunk Heard Around the World" in '83 is famous, but that dunk against some tomato can team on that fall night is etched in my mind....the goal may still be shaking...

    Rights issues are becoming bigger and bigger in the sports world. Footage clearances are already a nightmare. This case could change the way sports are televised and the cost to license footage would explode.

    It could get interesting.
