    You thinking he'll be Quinn's back-up?

Probably not because we have bigger needs and I am not sold on him. Maybe if he dropped to the third somehow.

In a heartbeat. This is a guy who had a history of having his best performances in the games with the most pressure right up until his two OTs decided they didn't want to block anyone against Florida. He is short, but he delivers from a high arm angle that should prevent deflections. He has a very strong arm with a quick release and an efficient delivery. He can throw with touch short or with accurate velocity downfield, and he makes good decisions with the football. Smith graded out as the best passer I saw in college football last season, although I understand why teams would take Russell over him given that guy's size and ridiculous arm strength.

Frankly, I challenge anyone who disagrees with taking Troy Smith in the 2nd to state why. I imagine that the only reason given would be "we don't need a QB" from the overly-sensitive Delhomme defenders.

We could use a QB to groom and back up Delhomme but we have other needs that are pretty big. It is not that I would not want him it is just I would rather have a linebacker or safety.
