Go back and watch the tape. If Alex Smith stays in the game, the Panthers lose. The only reason they won because they got to face David Carr. SFO got good when they got good at QB (coincidence, I thinketh not) with Troy Smith.

That's not completely true. With the 2009 Jake in the game, tee run game benefited because the safeties had to play deep or they'd miss out on the interception.

Jake was the best QB we had until he had the elbow surgery.

 

Jake, if he stayed healthy, would have probably been better than anything we've trotted out there, if for no other reason than his chemistry with the OL and Smith.

The offensive vets have absolutely been shit this year. Not just the injuries. Healthy guys like King, Gross, Smith--all have done nothing to raise their game up to help the QB's.

How was Richardson's relationship with Del Rio? Rumor is he could be out of Jacksonville. Not that I want him here, but he has been one the best DC we've had.
