why did the pats allow the panthers to explode for 29 points in a little over 32 minutes? And that was WITH Law and Poole.

yeah, he's a good coach, but I'm already tired of reading shit like the eagles won't be able to score on them. Hell, Big Ben had about 50 yards rushing last week, they really think McNabb wouldn't have taken one of those to the house?

I would not say they let us explode, we forced it. IMHO last year's panthers were a lot better than this year's eagles, especially with out a healthy T.O.

The eagles do not have a receiver that can get open against the Pats so they will key on the run game and short throws to Westbrook. It is going to be a long day for the Iggles.

I think part of the reason we were able to get points on them was by exploiting their young guys - Assante Samuel and Eugene Wilson - at the nickel and FS spots. You can't say they didn't prep for the pass because that's impossible, but they might not have expected as much spread formation and didn't put a ton of guys in Jake's face. Plus, in any game where the tempo starts to go faster, it's easier to put up yards/points. You stay with the flow of the game rather than slowing it down to run/rest the D.

Thats what makes the Pats success so maddening this year, they have been without their starting CB's a lot and yet no one has been able to take advantage of that. I really thought that Peyton would be able to, but crap he almost never went long. Credit for that must go to the defense disguising it's blitzes and being able to generate pressure with the front 3 or 4 guys pretty regularly, to me thats the unsung part of their team.

I've seen Troy Brown get abused some, despite his hype; he's very susceptible to timing passes, for instance, and doesn't get position sometimes. But no, without Law, they still haven't sucked. They disguise things so much that you really can't often just work on matchups.
