Didn't Edmonton play somebody outdoors a while back?

no, I think they really did. It gets cold enough in Canada to play outdoors.

not at all...here's a chart with the average monthy temps in Edmonton...

    Monthly averages °F

January Avg Low: 5° Avg High: 20° Avg Precipitation: 0.42 in
February Avg Low: 9° Avg High: 26° Avg Precipitation: 0.29 in
March Avg Low: 19° Avg High: 36° Avg Precipitation: 0.32 in
April Avg Low: 31° Avg High: 52° Avg Precipitation: 0.74 in
May Avg Low: 42° Avg High: 63° Avg Precipitation: 1.25 in
June Avg Low: 50° Avg High: 69° Avg Precipitation: 1.93 in
July Avg Low: 54° Avg High: 73° Avg Precipitation: 2.3 in
August Avg Low: 52° Avg High: 72° Avg Precipitation: 1.64 in
September Avg Low: 42° Avg High: 62° Avg Precipitation: 0.96 in
October Avg Low: 32° Avg High: 51° Avg Precipitation: 0.46 in
November Avg Low: 18° Avg High: 33° Avg Precipitation: 0.34 in
December Avg Low: 8° Avg High: 24° Avg Precipitation: 0.3 in

They could easily play outside from December through at least the begining of March. I know playing hockey outside seems a little weird, but it can be done far enough north.

I don't know, I don't think the NHL would risk it. What if Chris Pronger fell through the ice? Imagine the lawsuit.
