I saw Stephen Davis after the game Sunday. He said his knee is feeling better. He can't wait to get back on the field next year, and says he's sure he'll be ready to go. I asked him about the microfracture surgery and he said he's got a great doctor who really knows what he's doing with microfracture. He said no worries there. I just thought I would pass this along.

Oh yeah, I also saw Steve Smith driving into and out of the stadium. I didn't see him get out of the car, so I'm not sure if he was wearing a boot or anything. I just think it's cool these guys still come to the games.

sat behind the Panthers bench at the Arizona game. Smith didn't have a boot on and seemed to get around fine. :laugh1:

You almost have to wonder now, if they had the chance to see how things would start to play out, if they'd have IR'd everyone that they did early. Yes, there was certainly not a huge chance that any of them would play again, and certainly not Davis.

It was still the right choice, IMO, since rushing a player back for a couple games would be high-risk for the next injury.

I think they did the right thing. It didn't look like we were going anywhere, no sense in rushing them back, etc., but also it sent the message the guys we had were the guys we were gonna be playing with. Just as our fans would maybe be thinking "wait until Smitty comes back", the players could have fallen into that trap too.

This team is going to kick some serious buttocks next year if everyone returns. Think about how we are starting to play and add all the talent that has been lost....wow.

Yeah I think they did the right thing IRng these guys, the worst thing is to rush a guy back and let him get hurt again at the end of the year when his recovery wont be complete by next season.

I think they did fall into that trap. We started winning right after we put Davis on IR. There were other factors, but I bet that was one.
