Our offense is still very predictable but it is better than it was under Henning. That last year Henning was here was hard to watch. By the end of that year I think ESPN could have recapped our offense two days before the game and been dead on.

No one in Miami is having any trouble watching it.

he had all his guys in 2006. They were handpicked. 2005 wasn't any more talented by any means, and still had better results.

I didn't like all his calls, and his methodology was something I disagreed with - felt that 2003 was way too conservative and 2004 took way too long to come to play. But his 2005 was very good, and he was good in the playoffs. And, now that he's gone, it's safe to say that some of it is/was Fox managing his team. I always said that Henning had his guys gameplanned well, they were generally disciplined and prepared. He was generally an asset.

One thing he has in Miami - an offensive head coach that makes the run game a focus, and he has a competent QBs coach that does some of the gameplanning. I felt from day one that Henning had too much autonomy and that the QBs coach position was underfilled. I still don't like McCoy as Passing Game Coordinator, whatever that's supposed to entail.

I was somewhat hoping that this offense would have more variety, and the tricks used by Davidson are good, but not used often. The combo routes, the variety in looks, I haven't seen it as much as I'd hoped. The varied screen game that was a staple of this offense hasn't really shown itself often and needs to. It's really not being administered much differently at all than the generic Henning calls - most of the balls to the two WR in the passing game - but with more carries than the average Henning offense, and that's something that I think took DH down. Five years of that offense and one year of above average running - you can throw it to personnel, dedication to the run, I don't really care where the blame's laid but they made the choices to do what they did in 05 and 06 to decide what type of running team they were going to be and it didn't work.

Kudos for admitting it. Maybe LarryD could just sticky a thread at the top of the Panthers forum entitled "Collin was right," but then of course we probably wouldn't even need a forum at all. Plus if people never argued with me, I'd get bored.

Considering you post some version of "I was right" on every page of every thread, I think the sticky would be a bit redundant.

I don't brag about being correct nearly as often as it actually happens, maybe like once every ten or twenty times. The fact that it still happens often is just testament to the fact that I'm almost always right about everything.

Be careful not to dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back like that. I worry about you. :worry-rose:
