We need to get the DNA from Ted Thompson, Reese in NY, Ozzie in Baltimore and a little Mickey Loomis from New Orleans as well as a smidgen of Colpert from Pittsburgh and make a super GM. I didn't realize that schmuck in Atlanta has won the Executive of the year 2 of the last 3 years. :crap:

He's not leaving Baltimore for this mess. I don't know enough about assistant NFL executives to guess who would do a good job, I just want someone with a personnel/scouting background.

Ultimately, I'm not going to celebrate too much. We're in bad shape.

A man, who loved this team and worked hard to make us better, lost his job today. He didn't succeed at those things, but it's not all his fault we have an inconsistent OC who won't run or use the two amazing running backs on our roster. It's not all his fault Rivera can't field a tough team, and a prepared team on game day.

But a lot of things are his fault, and we're a crippled franchise that is cap strapped with a future that looks incredibly complex. So Hurney got fired. Ok. What a horrible reminder at the shape we're in. Losing a GM mid season.

I mean...we came off a bye week and got stomped by a bad team. That's not all Hurney.

Don't some teams split the duties of a GM? Have a cap guy, and a team of talent scouts? There are gonna be a bunch of cuts/trades made in the off season to get some flexibility. But the immediate future (next year) is going to be bleak.
